David’s principal area of practice is insurance law. He represents business and non-profit policyholders, including energy and transportation companies, and healthcare providers, in insurance litigation and arbitration matters under first-party and liability policies. David’s practice includes matters in which the firm is asked to consult and advise on insurance, indemnity, and casualty loss-allocation issues. David also serves as a Litigation Counsel to the Port of Houston Authority.

REPRESENTATIVE MATTERS:

Claims under first-party policies brought by energy companies, drilling contractors, healthcare providers, and other businesses for property damage and business interruption losses caused by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and Tropical Storm Allison.

Claims under liability policies for environmental losses, including defense and cleanup expense, under environmental and legacy general liability policies.

Issues under Directors and Officers liability policies, including policy placement, coverage issues, recovery of defense expense, and allocation of loss.

Claims under employment practices, fidelity, fiduciary (ERISA), and professional liability policies.
